President Britton announced yesterday that he had. sent out letters to all his players, instructing them to report at St. Augustine February 23. None of the players will come to St. Louis this spring, according to President Britton, but will go straight to the training camp. The boss of the Cardinals says that he does not see any use of bringing his men to this city and then shipping the squad south.
Baseball magnates this year are compelled to pay the fare of the players to the spring training camps. Perhaps if the players were told to report in St. Louis they would expect that their car fare be paid to what is known as their home ball town and then draw another free ride to St. Augustine.
